I'm referring to my, uh, inept housekeeping efforts. I like a clean house as much as the next person, but every time I clean it just gets messy again.

I am the same exact way, why bother cleaning, it's just going to get messy again.
I hear ya!! I have a friend who constantly picks up after her kids all day - I just wait until the end of the day and whatever they haven't picked up themselves, I do only once...
lol- I'm right there with ya! I never expect a different result either. Phew.
I am also motivationally challenged when it comes to housekeeping, mainly because it's always there!
